"I have been going to Aire in Chicago since it opened and was excited when I had a trip planned to Barcelona and we decided to have a spa day at Aire - Barcelona! Though the location is beautiful and clean; with great customer service at the front desk and the massage rooms are beautiful. But if I had to be completely honest, I don't think I'll ever be back.I waited two weeks to see if Aire - Barcelona would reach out like they said they would, but they have not. Not only was my friend (who is a Spanish speaker) heard the masseuse talking about her weight and how she didn't want to touch her, the masseuse did not know that she spoke Spanish, but it doesn't matter. Then the locker room attendant literally told me I was stealing a bathing suit, knowing that I'm not from the country, nor have no idea where they store bathing suits! Most people would simply ask where I get my bathing suit from, but she was telling my friend that I stole a swimsuit and so my friend was trying to explain to her (in Spanish) as well as me with a translator, that that's not the case.Then we spoke with the front desk, and at first, they thought it was miscommunication. Even though I literally told them story, but I had to have my friend back me up and tell them she told the locker room attendant, the same story in Spanish! And all they said was, we're sorry; I did have to walk away because I was becoming really upset. They came outside to apologize to me and said that I'll be in touch with customer service. This is not my first time in Barcelona but I did have a reminder that being a black American woman, realizing that no matter where I go, sometimes how I look will present issues. Whether you believe or not.Crazy part is, we paid for drinks that we never got, customer service never reached back out and I just want to note that if you are going to Aire - Barcelona, be careful and probably record all your conversations with them because I've seen they don't care."

"What a disorganized circus. My boyfriend and I decided to book a couples massage which ended up being more stressful than the “experience” was worth. The ambiance overall was lovely but the place is over crowded and the staff is busy running around trying to identify guests. Our massages were done by students in training, little to no “work” done at all. Just oil rubbed around for 60 minutes. Overall I wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for a serious massage and a more private, relaxing spa experience."
"We were 4 ladies on a trip to Barcelona and booked the 8-10pm slot one night with 45min massage and cava and truffles.It was a lovely set up with many hot baths, steam room , and salt floats - so many it was actually quite difficult to fit in along with the massage.Whole set up lovely would visit again."

"AIRE marketers advertise the spa using a picture of a couple in love with the slogan: Private experience. In fact, there is no such thing as private and the whole spa is a public experience where you will be with a bunch of other people. And the manager jokes that under the word private there is a massage in a separate room and it's just marketing. To me, though, it's customer deception.The water in the small pools is dirty and disgusting to walk in.Massage at 2 out of 5, the masseuse who massaged my girlfriend every minute sneezed and blew her nose, as well as talked to the second masseur. Why do you let sick people to work? Maybe she has covid?It's just beautiful false marketing for which you will pay an overpriced amount. Let me remind you that in Europe and in Spain consumer deception is a crime and my lawyer is preparing a lawsuit regarding your marketing materials and false texts on your website."

"My partner and I recently visited Aire Baths Barcelona and overall had a good experience. The ambiance is beautiful—the historic building, decor, and low lighting create a relaxing environment. We especially enjoyed the variety of bath types, the excellent sauna, and the thoughtful fitting room amenities.That said, a few things could have been improved. Water tended to accumulate on the floors, and we didn’t see any staff attending to it. The juice add-on was disappointing—it was store-bought and didn’t feel worth the extra cost.While each session in the baths is 1.5 hours, there are no clocks or staff keeping time, which made it hard to relax toward the end, unsure if we’d overstayed. The main thing that affected my experience was that some of the guidance during the visit felt a bit micromanaging and out of step with the elevated setting.It was a unique and enjoyable experience, but for the price, some details could be fine-tuned."
"I booked a soak and massage here for the night I arrived in Barcelona after a long flight from Mexico. You get to first soak in pools of varying temperatures in these candlelit caverns that smell divine and no one speaks above a whisper. Then I had the massage on a heated marble slab. I was so tired that I might have fallen asleep, but I prefer to believe that I left my body and was floating around the room! It was divine."
"The experience was 120 minutes with a massage included. As is often the case in hotel spas, the experience should end with the massage, however when we arrived there we were forced to massage at the beginning or halfway through the experience, totally breaking the experience of enjoying the spa. As much as we said it Air for his own benefit did not agree. In fact we would have changed the time if we knew to do the massage at the end... In short, the client to adapt to what interests Aire most. We won't prove it anymore."

"My husband and I experienced the soaking pools only. I was cold in all the large pools and had to retreat to the steam room and sauna to warm up. The salt water pool was so strong my skin is still recovering 2 days later. The place is beautiful but feels more corporate than soulful. It’s not worth the money."

A supposedly relaxing experience is turning into an unpleasant situation. I'm sending e-mails and calling them, but they won't answer my e-mails or confirm it on the phone. "I got treated to a spa day for my birthday here and it was an absolutely amazing experience. From the start as you enter , you are welcomed warmly. The place is nicely decorated with candles lit everywhere which creates a cozy ambiance. The massage was great and the baths after were a delight. Saunas, hot pool, cold plunges and a floating pool which we all tried! Highly recommended experience whilst in Barcelona. They have several locations in Spain and Europe. Go and try it out!"
"The architecture is beautiful, with several small pools at different temperatures, a sauna, and a jacuzzi. There’s also a relaxing area where you can sit and enjoy tea, water, or order something. The changing rooms are clean and well-equipped with good hair dryers, a hair iron, combs, and more. The staff are kind and polite.
Now, for the part I didn’t enjoy as much:
I received the Deep Intensive massage by a girl. It was okay, but I’ve had the same massage in another place and it was much better and also more affordable. She used a lot of oil, which I didn’t mind—but after the massage, I noticed many people just changed their swimsuits and went straight into the pools. You could clearly see oil and dirt floating in the jacuzzi and other pools, which was not pleasant.
My recommendation:
They already provide a towel, robe, and socks upon entry, but it would be great if they also gave a soft bath towel after the massage. It would also help if they asked people to rinse off before going into the pools again, or scheduled massages at the end of the visit.

"Such a great spa! The inside is beautiful, with pools and saunas to enjoy for 2 hours. Everything was clean and organized, and the staff guided us through. We got the 30-min couple massage and the cava to finish! Lockers had everything you need—just bring a swimsuit. Go when it’s not crowded for the best vibe."
"Very great and relaxing experience. Nice place, ideal atmosphere and very attentive staff. We have enjoyed each minute. As well, it was very pleasant to get a face mask, body scrub and a glass of champagne with chocolates as an extra gift. Totally worth its price and hugely recommended!!! "We arrived at 10:45pm for the 11pm - 12:30am time slot, which was relatively empty and quiet. A great time to go if you want lots of your own space. The experience is slightly different than the Aire in NYC: no salt scrub available to everyone in the baths area; not as many amenities in the locker rooms either, including no standing mat from the attendant after the shower and they don’t dry your bathing suit for you."
"A place that feels like heaven on earth. We got the couple’s package with a 90-minute massage and 90 minutes of spa access. Honestly, this might be one of the best spa experiences I’ve ever had. The massage was incredible, and although I thought we might get bored in the thermal pools, we ended up staying until the very last minute. After the massage, the pools felt unbelievably relaxing. We went back and forth between the hot and cold pools, and the saltwater pool was amazing too. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but absolutely worth it. I’ll definitely be coming back."

The staff pay incredible attention to every single detail, making the whole experience feel so special and relaxing. Phones are not allowed inside the spa, which we actually loved, it really helped us disconnect and enjoy the moment 100%. Highly recommended if you're looking for a peaceful and well-thought-out spa experience. Even in the changing rooms, there are plenty of products and amenities available to use after your shower. "I was a little disappointed with this experience - we did the Couples Experience with a 60 minute massage for each of us. It was advertised as private, but the room was a metal curtain and as you walked to it you could see others getting a massage and I am sure others could see us as they entered and exited. It was not private and it also was not very quiet. You could hear other people in the next curtained ""room"" so it was difficult to enjoy and relax. The baths were wonderful as was the juice, but there also was not time for the two of us alone in any of those spaces which the site makes it sound like."
"Unforgettable experience!! I was there with my sisters and I had booked for the ""Orange"" experience - thermal bath with body and face massage. My sisters couldn't thank me enough as they were really satisfied with the service. We had a warmth welcome and the atmosphere there gave us a peace of mind and body. There are so many different baths like you can completely make use of all your money spend. We also had a really satisfying body massage and the body felt so much rejuvenated after it. And the good part is.. they speaks English !! If you are a first time visitor to a thermal bath then do not miss out this place."
"The worst spa i’ve ever been for that price.The locker room is uncomfortable, the lockers are small, there is no place to put your clothes, it is wet everywhere, your shoes make you feel like you are walking in a swamp. Insufficient ventilation, it is hard to breathe. There are several types of baths, none of which impressed me. The staff constantly checks your bracelets - it is annoying."
"The good:- the place and architecture is magical- the floating pool is super cool and there are 5/6 pools so enough space to not feel crowded-the complimentary tea was hot and tasty- there was lots of assistants and they were nice
The not so good:- The massage is one of the worse ones I have had. My hubby who has no training does a better job. My sister had a massage and it wasn’t great either. The rooms are just curtains so you feel like you are having a amssage with 20 people.- They forgot our champagne and snack which we paid for. We reminded them and forgot again- There are no towels so if you come out of a pool and go toanother one you get your robe soaked which is super thin and you get cold

"We did the baths as well as a 60 minute massage. Staff was wonderful. English is fairly limited but we got by, and that is not their fault, it's our fault for not knowing more of the local language. Our only complaint was the baths were fairly busy during our visit. Not overwhelmingly so, but a lot of the guest were extremely pda heavy and no one was policing it, which made it difficult for us to be comfortable.Price is right for the experience.Massage was phenomenal.Lockers and showers were clean and well equipped."
"the baths are underground, dimly lit and deeply relaxing. the saltwater tub was divine— could float with total ease. the steam room and sauna add warmth to the experience because the tubs are not that hot. over time, i generated enough warmth to deeply relax and enjoy the space. we went home and had a great night’s rest. highly recommend!"

"We had not even arrived and the customer service and attitude towards us was very bad! It took 4 telephone calls to speak to a customer service agent. It was not possible to delay the purchased experience - even by 15 min. The experience itself was very good. The staff are helpful and nice, the place, and the facilities are extensive, not too busy, and clean. The massage was also very good. In the end, they swapped around the timings of the water experience and the massage meaning that our delay could have been easily accommodated. I also received a reply to my email asking for a delay some 4 days later! In summary, this was a great experience except for the very, very poor external facing client relations and for that reason it gets a 1-star review"
"This was a luxury experience. We spent a fantastic afternoon here relaxing in the various temperature baths. We also had a fantastic massage. It is underground and lit by candles which makes for a fantastic atmosphere. Great staff. Felt amazing afterwards."
"Sad to say but the worst experience ever.. I ended up with very bad rush all over my body, puffy face and running nose. Not sure if the reason is the strongly aromatic oil (what I was not asked about) or the fact that people go from sauna and steam straight to all the baths without taking shower, what is gross. I guess combination of both ups.The massage was not professional for several reasons and absolutely not worthy the price. Technique was very poor and the super strong aromatic oil was used on my face in such amount that it went to my eyes and fully into my ears. Au! It’s going to be a miracle if I will not get an ear/eye infection. What a situation in holidays when all you want is to relax.Oil was dripping from my hair and there was no chance to get rid of it. Even I washed it out four times.. maybe because there is not warm water in the showers? Like what? All my clothes smell like the aroma oil, so I guess I gonna feel this experience for loong time.And the bonus: the masseuse didn’t use any disinfection on their hands, so all the bacteria from feet and body went straight on my face.If you are looking for good sauna, also not recommend this on as it’s max 50degrees."

"One of the best massages I’ve ever had was at AIRE in New York, so when we were looking to book a massage during our Barcelona vacation, I suggested here. We booked a couples massage based on our past positive experience but the day of, I was worried after reading all the negative reviews on Google (which I hadn’t bothered to check before we made a reservation). However, we had a lovely time! We both had wonderful massages and they were able to accommodate our preference for female therapists. The bath area was clean and comfortable (the bathroom down there probably could’ve used a little attention) and wasn’t dirty or too crowded (we went on a Sunday evening).The one thing I felt could be improved was the friendliness of the dressing room staff - one woman was very kind but the other felt kind of cold and judgmental. I didn’t feel the most comfortable when interacting with them. There are private showers and rest rooms if you don’t want to change in front of people.Overall, we were very happy with our experience and look forward to visiting another Aire property in the future."
"This experience was pretty great from the moment we walked in the door, until leaving and realized my wedding ring was missing and it seemed to have just disappeared. I do not take this ring off, it takes effort to remove it from my hand and Ive been in many pools/baths etc without ever losing it so this did not just fall off. I realized when I laid down for my massage that I should have removed my ring for the therapist but she didn’t say anything so I left it. During my massage, the therapist aggressively pulled off one of the spa’s bracelets from my hand, and I am confident my ring went with it. I shared this with the management and they said they would look for it in the sheets etc. It could have been an accident but seeing as how it never turned up I am guessing that is not the case. What started as an amazing day ended as one of the worst. Would have recommended 9/10 until this."

We had just gone down to the spa and had 10 minutes in the float tank, when he the lady called us for our massage. I said we have just arrived and wanted a little longer in the pools before we had massages. She then said ok I’ll call you later. For me it’s not relaxing. Maybe it would be better to have the massage time booked and then we know how long we have before we go. It was a busy place even on a week day afternoon. Too busy for a relaxing experience which is what we were expecting."

Being asked multiple times which bracelet I was wearing and being treated differently by the type of bracelet. ”oh yours doesn’t come with a drink” which I never asked if it did. Lady in locker room was no help and her customer service was lame. They told us to come early so we could enjoy the baths they only gave us 15mins. Would definitely not return. Go anywhere else"

My main issue with the place is with the sauna. It should be completely redone. It’s too cold, water goes through some ventilation I assume? The weird walls inside make the heat go in weird places
And there are way too few stones on the sauna heater. I think it might just be the worst sauna I’ve ever been in, completely ruins the experience"

We go to Ancient Bath in every town we visited, it was the first time that's so noisy. Nobody to tell client to be silent. The experience was good but noise spoilt the moment."

Hairdryer, hair straightener, all very good. It s most of the time very clean in the changing rooms. Sometimes in the bath the water isn’t very clean but most of my visit it was very clean."
"Loved the whole experience from beginning to end! Ended up booking the Love Connection 60'. Really enjoyed the different water baths that they provide. Felt rejuvenated and relaxed for the rest of the day. We liked how they limit the number of people as it didn't feel crowded in any of the baths. We were blown away by how beautiful everything was and we thoroughly enjoyed the spa. The only downside would be that the communication between the staff wasn't great, I think if they'd really benefit from using some kind of system where they could communicate without speaking as there was a constant whispering of voices from outside our massage room and no one really seemed to know what was going on. The actual facilities and overall experience were still wonderful though"

Yohan was very helpful upon my arrival and Laura during my time in the baths was very helpful in sharing some tips about the cold plunge.Cecilia who was my masseuse was extremely professional and courteous and able to tackle a lot of my muscle tension which isn’t easy especially as I am someone who plays a lot of sport and works out a lot.I hope to visit again soon rather than later. "TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE BUT I would like to start by saying that the concept of the place is fantastic: the design, the baths, and the music are all beautiful and create a relaxing atmosphere. However, I left with a very negative impression, as my experience was completely ruined by the unprofessional staff.From the moment I entered, the reception was cold, and the girls in the changing rooms were neither smiling nor greeting me. It felt like I was an unwelcome guest in their home. And now, about the masseuse… it was a nightmare.I had booked a couple’s massage for 90 minutes, and the masseuses were a man and a woman. Let’s start with the fact that my masseuse was sick. She was constantly breathing heavily and coughing non-stop, which made it impossible to relax for even a single second. It was especially uncomfortable when I was lying on my back, and her labored breathing was directly in my face. If you’re sick, stay home! You can’t do this to people. But that wasn’t even the worst part.The worst part was that our masseuses started chatting and laughing with each other throughout the entire session. At first, I wondered, “Are they laughing at me?” It was unbearable! The whole atmosphere was ruined by the horrible team.I came here expecting a peaceful and relaxing experience, but instead, I left feeling stressed and frustrated. A disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this place to anyone."

"Great spa and massage! A very relaxing experience. The ambiance is relaxing and the building is gorgeous. You only have to bring your swimming wear, they provide the rest like shoes, bathrobe and towel.They have indiviual pools with warm, hot and cold water, a steam sauna and a jacuzzi. They also have a floating bath, but this was temporarily closed.There is water and tea to drink. When you ordered a massage, they will find you in the baths, so you don't have to watch the time. This also goes for when the experience ends.If you come to Barcelona and you love spa's, visit Aire."

"This was such a disaster. I was hoping for rejuvenation, but only got disappointment. Given it’s very popular I thought sharing what’s wrong so people don’t get fooled as it’s not cheap:Starting with wristband: they are incredibly tight. I’m not big and feel they would be really uncomfortable for many people.Onto the baths: there are only two showers next to the salty one where you can float. But they are scalding hot and you can’t change the temperature. When I come out of sauna I’d like to have a cooler shower before getting back into baths. Not possible.The jacuzzi is not warm at all. So is the steam room. There is cold water running INSIDE the steam room actually which makes no sense to me.I booked the orange garden where I have massage and facial after bath. Personally I think it makes sense to take a shower before massage as I’m all salty and sweaty, and showering after massage means washing away all the oil on my face and body. I asked staff in the bath whether there is shower in the massage rooms, they said yes. Once I get to the massage they tell you “it’s not necessary to shower”. I insisted that I would like to shower as the flow otherwise doesn’t make sense. They led me to a shower which you have to push button and it stops in 5 seconds, and there is no hot water. I told them so and they told me I had to go back to the changing room.After shower I had to wait for the massage and they told me because I had shower and that’s like a “fault”. Now onto the massage itself, it’s more like applying lotion on your body. I asked to apply more force (they don’t ask you at the beginning whether you like strong or less), no effect. My family runs a beauty salon chain where staff need to give each other massage periodically, both as a benefit as well as training, so we can give each other feedback and improve. This massage was an absolute joke. Worst I’ve ever had. For the same price you really can get massage ANYWHERE. Don’t come here.I have no idea how they open so many branches and the one in Barcelona is so popular. But I thought sharing my experience so people won’t be coming here to waste their time and money."

Initially, two of us were scheduled to start our experience at 18:00, and the other two at 19:00 and 20:00 respectively (since it wasn’t possible to book the same time slot on the website).First, we were forced to go straight to the massage without the opportunity to relax and enjoy the baths beforehand. Then, once everyone had finished their massage and spent some time in the baths, we were forced to leave because we had apparently stayed too long.IMPORTANT: At no point—whether on the website, in the booking confirmation, or at reception before the experience began—were we informed that we couldn’t spend more than two hours inside. This policy, which we weren’t made aware of, completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing experience.I don’t recommend this place and suggest finding an alternative."
"We booked the package of the Spa & 30min Massage. The whole Spa complex was very cold. There were different areas where behind benches or walls cold wind was blowing. Also the normal sauna & the steam sauna were quite cold, so that they could not be used for heating up. Therefore we had to spend nearly all our time in the hot pool which is shame because we could not try the other ones.Maybe it was our time but the whole spa was super crowded. There was movement everywhere, people were chatting the whole time, the employees were chatting the whole time, which I think defeats the whole purpose of this experience.And as well, the steam sauna was smelling like a toilet.My massage was not very satisfying. You could sense that every employee is doing a bit of everything, and therefore is not comparable with a real Thai massage for example.Overall I am still quite shocked about the price / value balance. If it would have been a relaxing time and maybe just one negative thing, alright. But in this short period of time too many things accumulated, whereby I just think it is the right thing to inform others before booking that. Now I am afraid that instead of a calm evening, I got a cold."
