"A true luxury experience that I will never forget. From start to finish you will bear witness to the prestige that is carried with the Ritz-Carlton brand. Getting to the spa felt like something out of Charlie and the chocolate factory as it’s hard to gauge how grand the hotel is from outside but I was escorted to the spa by an extremely welcoming member of staff. The massage I had here was nothing short of spectacular and was well and truly deserved after a long day of flying to Barcelona. I can’t recall a time where I’ve felt more relaxed and relieved after a massage and I have to take my hat off for how professional it was. The icing on the cake was the private spa access at the end. The sheer pleasure that it brought me to appreciate Barcelona in all of its beauty from a jacuzzi and sauna of my own is a memory that I will cherish forever. There was a nice steam room too however I spent very little time in there as the beauty of the spa experience was in soaking in the skyline. If you have the money to spare, don’t deny yourself of this experience. Due to late arrival of my flight I couldn’t book myself in for the morning treat package so I opted for the massage and complimentary spa access instead. If you can do the package with breakfast I’d highly recommend as it’s only slightly more than an hour long relaxing massage. The only feedback I’d give is that the temperature of the sauna wasn’t what I’m used to as it felt a bit cool. I’m not sure if it required servicing or if the temperature was set low but it’d be nice to have the room a bit hotter or for there to be something to adjust it."
"Amazing views from the spa located on the top floor. The staff are attentive and will try their best to make you comfortable and relaxed. My massage was wonderful and highly professional. I finished off the afternoon with a session in the private spa where you have access to the jacuzzi pool, steam room and sauna alone for complete tranquillity whilst admiring the view. Complimentary snacks and drinks are offered too.My only criticisms would be a lack of private/closed off changing areas within the changing area. There were no doors on showers and no where completely private other than the toilets which might not be comfortable for everyone. Finally, they were lacking in larger size robes and as a mid size women I found that the largest robe they had was a bit too small for my comfort and decency. It would be necessary to invest in more inclusive robe sizes as I can’t imagine how a larger person would feel when given a smaller robe and told that they don’t have a bigger option. For this, I deducted a star."
"We took a package for a spa evening. It included relaxing room with a Jacuzzi and sauna (45 minutes). Massage (55 mints) and dinner. On the day of the spa visit, we were informed that we would not be able to have dinner at the restaurant and offered an alternative option - dinner at the bar with three tapas and one cocktail per person. It was necessary to pay 40 euros extra for two. The impressions were only positive! Very polite staff! Amazing view from the windows! The massage was also great! I recommend everyone to visit!"
"The location and amenities cannot be beat. Marina my masseuse was stellar on the 90min hot oil, hot stone massage. And the staff all look like Vogue models (pencil thin with minimal makeup, slick back hair, and chic black uniforms). As a Marriot loyalist and avid BonVoy member some things need attention... The staff kinda hustled me out near the end, asking how I planned to pay, showing me a bill while I was still in a robe, the steam room was broken for over half of my stay in the wet room, I could never get the jacuzzi tub fountain on and there is some rust around the window sills. Overall, the place is wonderful and I will be back."
"The spa is very beautiful. The view is great. However, I was extremely frustrated that they told me incorrect information multiple times in emails which led me to miss 30 out of 45 minutes of the allotted time I had to relax in the spa only before my service. I shifted my schedule around to hunt down a swimsuit last minute on a Sunday only to find out that I didn't need one when I got there. I cut short my other plans and rushed here and there because they told me the wrong thing a couple of times. They said I couldn't use the private spa water area and sauna without one. It wasn't the esthetician's fault. She was very nice. I'm still very annoyed about it because I won't have another chance to enjoy the it because of their mistakes. I don't live in Barcelona. If the spa wasn't as beautiful, I'd give them fewer stars. My skin is extremely acne-prone and sensitive to products which I mentioned and the products from the facial caused many red breakouts overnight. Where I don't have breakouts, I have small clogged pores where I don't even usually break out."
"Excellent spa and treatment. The therapist was very professional and she did An excellent treatment. The view from the spa is spectacular. I didn’t have time to use the 45’ of sauna/pool time allocated before the treatment but a good experience anyhow. The only down side is the facilities such as changing room, access to the spa is a little run down. It looks old and damaged. The brown wood floor and cupboard. Because The treatments are pricey you would expect 100% from the overall experience. The receptionist were super nice but you cannot pay cash, card only."
"Great experience all around! I went for a package deal including spa, massage and dinner for my partner and myself. We were very happy with our experience. The staff were all very nice and went above and beyond. The spa was in a private space on the 43rd floor with amazing views of the city. The massage was superb. The dinner was absolutely delicious. We’ll be going back."
"Everything about this place was extremely Crispy and amazing experience! The best spa in Barcelona!!"
"Great place to visit if you want to enjoy Barcelona from above and relax in the most fancy way possible in Hotel Arts Barcelona."
"Amazing experience. I had a facial booked and I got my own little private area with a huge jacuzzi pool, steam room, shower and a sauna with views of the sea. And the treatment itself was so relaxing. The best spa experience I've ever had."
"Great experience for the couples massage. Relaxed massage was done with plenty of pressure to feel great but not cause any pain. Highly recommend for a relaxing morning or afternoon. The view is great as well"
"43 The Spa Barcelona exceeded all expectations, offering a haven of tranquility with beautiful sea view. The sophisticated ambiance, coupled with impeccable facilities and expertly crafted treatments, provided a retreat for the senses."
"Incredible massages! Truly one of the best I’ve had, really relaxing and well done. Lots of great communication too such as asking where you want focus, if you like your stomach being massaged etc You also get access to a jacuzzi, steam and sauna exclusively for 45 mins beforehand. The massage was 5/5 but it would have been great to have more time in the jacuzzi area to feel truly relaxed and as though you have had a spa day."
"270€ for 2 massages (me and my husband) 50min - we arrived 4 min late and they shortened our massage to 40 min. ?! Without an apology, without an additional service offering but we were definitely asked for a tip ..disappointing treatment in this “luxury spa”. Also the quality of the massage was not the best - they don’t ask you if the pressure level is okay, they don’t ask you which areas to focus on or check in with you throughout the treatment if you feel good. The music is rather depressing than relaxingwe live in Barcelona and won’t be coming back."
"I thought that I was signing up for a Ritz-quality spa day but not the case. They weren’t ready for me upon arrival, were difficult to deal with at the front desk (possibly language barrier but I don’t think that was the case), we’re not flexible with my water-treatment even though there were no conflicting appts and the massage was fair. The masseuse didn’t have the correct type of massage on her sheet. The lunch was a joke. It was in the small cafe inside the lobby and and wasn’t even brought up to the spa. I could have eaten there for the same price and instead, paid extra to have it as part of my spa day but had to get dressed and go to the lobby before 1pm because that’s when it closed. I wouldn’t go back."
"Excellent massage - Just one session has seen my pain eased in my shoulders and back. The Spa is very clean, professional and staff are fabulous. I’ll be back!"
"very good amenities; jacuzz, steam room and sauna were all operating at a very high level. beautiful views of the city and lovely staff. recommend."
"Lovely hydro spa with amazing views. My massage was excellent, so relaxing I fell asleep 🙂"
"Fantastic experience, great attention all the way from Leonid, very professional. Great views and relaxing spa."
"Terribly overpriced massage 160eur for 60min, effectively 45min treatment. Pool access will cost you an additional 80eur. Wouldn’t recommend."
"What an amazing view of Barcelona. The terrace is amazing"
"For sure it gets 5 stars from me.Great service, great view. Each detail was made with love. We loved this place and going to back again:))"
"Kind of shocked I'm writing this review with this assessment. For context - I've been to spas all over the world - and visiting high end hotel spas is not new to me at all including having been to Ritz Carlton associated spas before. To start - got a same day appointment since we're staying there and wanted to start vacation right after a long plane flight. Got there, changed and waited in the relaxation room only to be notified they didn't have a therapist. No huge deal. They gave me 20% off the treatment to come back the next day.Came back the next morning. 1st surprise was that in the water treatment rooms they only have lukewarm plunge pools - not one of them is hot. I've never seen that before - usually the options are hot and cold especially when they have the machine to do an ice treatment.2nd surprise - the massage table was probably the most uncomfortable I've ever been on - and I've had probably a few thousand massages in my life. The head rest put your neck in an awkward position and the hole was too small for your face putting really uncomfortable pressure on your face and lower jaw.3rd - quite honestly one of the worst massages I've ever had. Really good massage therapists can sense where you have a lot of tension based on feel and they figure out what you need after the first couple of strokes. Really bad massage therapists have mechanical strokes - like an electric massage chair and have really cold energy - like they just don't want to be there. This massage was the last two.Honestly I usually wouldn't write a review except that this place is not cheap at all and so if you're going to invest your money you should have a pleasant relaxing experience. Honestly - neither of these adjectives apply here."
